In action taken September 21, the Synod Council issued a call to John, who has served at our Savior's for 12 years. This summer he traveled to Malawi to serve as a teaching pastor for the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Malawi.
As assistant to the bishop, John will have responsibility for global relations, which includes shepherding our relationship with our companion synod in Malawi. He will also serve as liaison to the synod's Candidacy committee and will work with congregations int he call process

Dear Members of Osseo Evangelical Lutheran Church,
Thank you from Wartburg Theological Seminary and the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America for your partnership with us in serving as an Internship Congregation during this past year. As an internship congregation you provide the context in which the intern is able to experience the pastoral formation that is essential for preparation of valued leaders for Christ's mission
Special thanks to Rev. Thompson and the members of the Lay Internship Committee for your thoughtful and attentive work in the evaluative process during this past year. I am aware of the time and energy you all devote in nurturing your intern to develop a preacher's mind, a pastor's heart, and a prophet's passion. We are grateful to the members of Osseo Evangelical Lutheran Church for embracing this important ministry with your prayers, your love, and the stewardship of your resources.
We are pleased that Intern Donna Runge's year with you was a time of significant growth for her and trust that it was for you as a congregation as well. We encourage your continued prayers for Donna during this exciting senior year of theological education, even as you now welcome and begin ministry with Intern David Tielbar.
As we give thanks for your ministry, we pray that you will continue your valuable ministry as an internship congregation.
Our gratitude to you as a congregation, as we give thanks to God for your partnership with Wartburg in the ministry and mission of internship!
In Christ,
Larry Henning
