Community Thanksgiving Worship

           You are cordially invited to attend this year’s Community Thanksgiving worship at South Beef River Lutheran Church on Thanksgiving Eve, Wednesday, November 27th, at 7:00 PM. The Mass Choir, under the direction of Dan Newman, will perform special numbers. Pastor Linda Marlett will provide the message. Pastor Thompson and  Pastor Les Munnik, UCC, will take part in the worship service. After the service, there will be a time of fellowship. Together, let us certainly ask that we may receive the Blessing of the Lord for our world, our communities, our nation, our neighbors, and ourselves.

            YOU are invited! Bring your family, friends, neighbors...   SBR is located on County Road B, 6 miles east of Osseo.

Prayer Shawl Ministry

             We continue to be thankful to those who give of their time to make shawls, and for the financial donations and yarn that supports this ministry in wrapping others in God's love for hope and healing.

            Many in our congregation have been blessed in the first year of this ministry, both givers and receivers.  Some of us have been meeting each month at the church to knit or crochet prayer shawls.  Anyone who is interested, can join us at our next regular meeting, Thursday, November 14th  from 1:00 - 3:00 pm in the OELC family room.  We are working on having enough Baby Baptismal Shawls so that we can expand our Prayer Shawl Ministry.  We hope to include this special offering of God's love and grace to infants at their baptism.

          Thank the Lord for His steadfast love, for His wonderful works to humankind.  For He satisfies the thirsty, and the hungry He fills with good things.  Psalm 107:8-9 NRSV

Our Sympathy and Prayers are extended ...

...  to the family and friends of Jeanne Fremstad, 76, who passed away on Tuesday, October 22, 2013. The funeral service for Jeanne was held on October 25th, with burial in the Osseo Cemetery.



ADVENT

           Families and/or individuals will be needed to read the Advent reading for the day, and to light the appropriate candles, during our Sunday morning worship services for the four Sunday mornings of Advent, December 1st, 8th, 15th & 22nd. If you and/or your family are interested in doing this, please call Val in the church office (715-597-3213).

            Mid-week Advent worship services will be held at 6:30 PM on Wednesday evenings,  December 4th, 11th & 18th. Intern Pastor David  will be leading the half hour worship services. If you are available to read for these evening services, contact Intern Pastor David.

            Make time in your busy schedule to wait, watch and prepare for the birth of the Messiah.

 




A big thank you to all the members of our congregation. Because of your generosity we were able to send 71 Quilts; 42 school kits; 23 baby care kits; 13 personal kits; 4 fabric kits to Lutheran World Relief . We very much appreciate everyone who donated kits, items, or money to be used for the kits.  Thank you to Alan Swett for delivering the boxes to the pick-up site in Eau Claire. 5 quilts and 30 baby quilts were also distributed locally.
